Education for Indonesian children should not be neglected even amid global uncertainties due to crises, pandemics, or wars, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said on his Twitter account Monday (05/02) in commemoration of the National Education Day.
The President added that education is one of the capitals for advancing Indonesia.
“Through education, we have come a long way to build the identity, character and dignity of our nation to welcome a more advanced future,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said that the pandemic had transformed education system in the country.
“We did not imagine before that the teaching and learning process will be carried out online because of the pandemic. However, we have been able to get through and do it very well. Our education has carried out extraordinary reforms in this pandemic era,” Pramono said in a video uploaded to the Cabinet Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
Along with the pandemic situation that continues to be controlled at a low level, he expressed hope that the transformation in the education sector can continue to be accelerated.
“I hope that our education sector will progress further so that our students will be able to compete globally in the education sector,” said the Cabinet Secretary.
Closing his statement, Pramono wished all Indonesian education personnel a happy National Education Day.
“Let’s together create quality education for an advanced Indonesia which brings prosperity to our nation and country,” Pramono remarked. (MAY/UN) (EST/MMB)
