In a bid to eradicate poverty as mentioned in the first target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Government has renewed its commitment to prioritize policies on social protection and community empowerment, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has said.

The Vice President explained that in 2021, Indonesia ranked 97th in terms of measures to achieve the target of SDGs, while in 2022 Indonesia ranked 82nd. However, Indonesia still has issues to achieve the target of SDGs, namely eradication of poverty, famine, and malnutrition.

“Collaboration between stakeholders including ministries/agencies and non-governmental elements is vital so that Indonesia’s extreme poverty rate could reach zero percent by 2024,” said the Vice President while inaugurating the 2022 Indonesian SDGs Corporate Summit (ISCOS) online held by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) under the theme “Encouraging Sustainable Economic Environment and Partnership for Inclusive Growth within SDGs Pillars, Tuesday (09/06).
